Kevin Allman is a playwright and journalist. In Los Angeles, he was a writer in residence with Circle Repertory West and studied and performed with the Groundlings, L.A.'s premier improv comedy troupe. He contributed monologues to several versions of the Native Tongues anthology series of plays in New Orleans, and his "Boo and the Shreveport Baby" was performed last year at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre in a benefit for Hurricane Katrina relief. His plays "Two in the Bush," "Backbones," "The Love Gift," and "My-O-My" have been staged in New Orleans at Le Chat Noir and Dramarama.
Kevin has also written for The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and the Globe & Mail, and is a member of the National Book Critics' Circle (his first novel, "Tight Shot," was a nominee for the Edgar Award). Due to a small rainstorm in the New Orleans area two years ago, he lives in Portland, Ore., but is looking homeward, angel. Yeah you rite.
